2 people arrested for Huntsville apartment complex shooting, victim expected to survive

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A shooting at a Huntsville apartment complex left one victim with life-threatening injuries, officials said on Tuesday night.

The shooting took place at Anthem Apartments and Cottages. A witness who lives in the apartments said they heard gunshots and were advised to return to their apartments.

A spokesperson for the Huntsville Police Department said investigators believe the victim met the suspect to sell an item and was shot in a robbery attempt. The victim is expected to survive.

Dejuan Omar Moore, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested and booked into Madison County Jail on a first-degree robbery charge.

According to Lieutenant Thigpen with the Huntsville Police Department, three suspects were detained at the time of the incident.

Thigpen said the victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
